What: A gathering of turning enthusiasts learn how to turn Maple Burl.
Where: Glen Friesen’s shop in Waldheim.
When: Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22. 9:00 – 4:30 each day.

Glen has a trailer with many pieces of Manitoba Maple burl of various sizes, shapes and colour. He is wanting to share this with other turners and have a group discussion about how to assess, cut up and turn burl material. There are 10 lathes available and you should bring your own tools. Grinding wheels and sharpening jigs are available. Instruction on how to sharpen is available. Each person will get to choose a piece of burl, turn it and take it home.
Cost: $100 per person for the 2 days.
