Christmas tree 2025.

Carving by Jamie Russel

Hello Trent and Mel! I was so happy to have run into you at Lee Valley yesterday – what an amazing coincidence! As promised I’m sending along some pictures related to the grand Christmas tree. My wife and I had not purchased a tree like this before, but after we marvelled at it and admired all of the wonderful decorations on Nov 22nd we only made it about ten paces away before we both turned around and went back for another look and saw it was still available. I think we both had the thought at the same time and promptly bee-lined over to the table with the volunteers to ensure it would be coming home with us for Christmas! We are beyond pleased to have this in our home and the ornaments will be part of our family’s Christmas traditions for decades (maybe even generations) to come. We envision passing some of these ornaments on to our children when they settle into homes of their own one day, we love all of them already so it’s going to be hard to decide which ones to part with! Haha.

The first of the attached photos is my wife, Andrea, and I on Nov 22nd on our afternoon date to see the trees at the WDM. The next photos are the following weekend when I suggested to my wife we should go back and get some pictures of the magnificent tree in situ, as it were.  I also dragged a somewhat reluctant Santa in for a photo, which my wife managed to photobomb in the background – well done honey!! Our two girls had no idea we had done something as spontaneous as acquiring a tree fully laden with gorgeous ornaments and I made sure to photograph the tree’s arrival at our home. Our dog, Dexter, was very excited, as were our two cats, Kevin and Maggie –  although it has been exceedingly difficult to keep Kevin from using it like a jungle gym and nesting inside!

So nice to meet you and I hope one or two of these photos bring some joy and can be of use!
Merry Christmas and all the best,
Jake & Andrea
